Question about repair cost

Yesterday, I dropped my N1, and even though it was in a protective case, a piece on the back seems to have broken. The plastic piece between the camera and headphone jack broke and is bulging out, meaning the battery door doesn't sit flush on the phone any more, it's difficult to remove/put on the battery door and difficult to put a headphone plug in the jack.

I'm considering sending the phone in for repair. I called HTC and they said it could cost anywhere from $50-$350 to fix. Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, what was the repair cost? Also, should I go for the advanced swap repair, or go without my N1 for 7-10 days on the regular repair?

if you're comfortable in your abilities and know what specific part is broken, i would try and find the part online & try to do the repair myself.

But if you don't think you can do it, then just sent it in.

Instead of sending it to HTC u can get it repaired at 3rd party repair shops that do the same work for a lesser price....here is a link to one which i know of....HTC Nexus One Repair
