Waiting for Verizon, no upgrade, should I bother?

I have a verizon account right now. I don't have an available upgrade for another year. So if I buy the Nexus One when it's available on Verizon I'll have to pay the full price for it.

My question is should I bother waiting then? If I have to pay full price anyways should I just buy an unlocked Nexus One and use it with my account? What are the advantages or disadvantages either way?

If you want to use the phone with your current Verizon account you'll have to wait until it comes out on Verizon. The current phone only works with TMobile and AT&T however on AT&T you'll not be able to use the 3G network.
