I've been using my Nexus since the 6th, before that I had a G1. Although the Nexus battery is a lot larger, I've been using it more, particularly with Wifi. I find they both last me about the same length of time, most all day. If I use it a lot then I have to charge it sometime during the day. Since I'm at work a lot it easily hooks to my computer's USB port for charging.

It actually depends on the applications running in the background. If I forget to kill all my apps, it'll lose battery a lot quicker.

I'm coming from a jailbroken iPhone 3G, constantly charging it was understandable, program leaks here and there.
With the N1, I generally charge only once a day, I try and let it die as much as it can before charging it back to 100%, sometimes mine will go 12-14 hours until I HAVE to plug it in. I'm always running Meebo IM, Google Sync, GPS and at home brightness all the way, if at work or away for a long while without the ability to charge, I put it on either the middle or lowest.
I'm really really happy with the battery life so far, couple the battery with Advanced Task Killer and you'll easily see a full days work out of your N1.

It's removable, just wondering if it's worth paying extra for an extended one?
thinking thinking...

Hi there,
I bought a N1 about 3 weeks ago, and the use of the battery really depends on what is active on your phone (3G, GPS, WIFI, birghtness of the screen), and also all application running background.
The fact is that most of the time, if you simply open and close and app, it can remain active background, causing your battery to empty quicker.
I recommand to dl the app task killer, in order to check sometimes which apps are still active, and kill the ones that should not be running.
Concerning my proper use, I usually use my phone playing games, downloading apps during the day, phoning and checking website on the internet, and finally on I only charge it once a day, just before sleeping (before sleeping I check all apps are unactivated of course).

Happy with my batterylife.
When i got it the Battery was dreadful. But after 3-4 times of completely draining and charging, it improved about 50%.
I keep it running processes at minimum. I don't fill it up with uselsess apps that runs in the background. I keep Bluetooth off all the time, and Wi-Fi on only when there is any avaliable. I keep the brightness at lowest possible and Sync off. I sync only when i need to sync.
I don't use any theme packs like Open Home. I keep it straight. The more shit u stuff in, the faster it drains due to processes running.
My work hours is 8 hours. During my day i listen to music almost all the time, i keep only Meebo running as well. This along with some surfing the web and texting a few SMS i come home with about 50% left on the battery. And so far so good, the battery is good enough for me.

I have had two Nexus One phones (dropped one and had to order replacement), and have had dreadful battery performance on both. With no applications running (using Advanced Task Killer), and with GPS and WiFi off, typical battery life doing *nothing at all* is about 7 hours. If I use GPS for 30 minutes to get somewhere, I lose about 75% battery power.
That having been said, I still love the friggin' thing. I'm going to carry an extra battery with me.

Battery life compared to the 3Gs is appalling. It's more like the original iPhone or the 3G. Today I called tech support and they're sending me a new battery. I predict no improvement. Also, it takes forever to charge. This battery, anyway.

imo the battery life of the N1 is not very good no matter how you use it. even for talk time.
For alot of people, you can turn off your 3G and Wifi when you're just using the phone as a phone.
Maybe you can get one of those new solar charging things so you dont have to worry about running out of battery
