Issues with a stalling Magic

I have had my Magic for about a year now, and when I press home from an application the phone sometimes goes to a blank screen. This then can take upto a couple of minutes to get back to a functional screen. First the background comes back, and then the shortcuts starts and widgets start to come back; and once these have all reappeared then the phone starts to work again. This is not everytime, but getting more and more often. I have hard reset the phone on one occasion, and this helped for a while then the problem came back. Anyone got any ideas of a cure for this?

What apps have you installed after the hard reset? It could very well be an app that keeps running in the background.

I have recently had a software upgrade to 2.2, and this seems to have stopped the most of the stalling. It happens on very few occasions, but not nearly as much as it did. I was told last year when I bought the phone that I was to expect a software upgarde, but it took over 1 year to get it. I know the magic isn't one of HTC'spremium phones anymore, but over a year is too long to wait!

I completely agree. Not to mention at least one feature (Live Wallpaper) was left out of the 2.1 update. I know there are ways to get it working if your phone is rooted. I never really had teh stalling issue on the old 1.5 I had when I got the phone but I use advanced task killer to sut down the apps when I', done with them as most will still run in the background.
