Google has release Google Earth for iPhone.Will Google Earth be released for Android platform or G1?Will it work on G1?

In reply to kiran, the Android OS does not have support for multi touch due to patents owed my Apple. From what I hear there is code written in the Android OS to support it, but it is commented out of the builds. The hardware supports multi touch just fine

In reply to HCSC. Google created the Google Earth app for the iPhone because there was no support at all for directions or maps at all for the iPhone from Google. For the Android Google has ported over their Maps application which basically has all the functions and features of Google Earth (I know minus a few). But for the most part, it is all there.

(and does google earth for iphone has "image overlay"?)

Has more to do with the fact that products are made by different teams. So the iPhone App team is a different team than the Android App team.
