Just bought HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T. I want to put some HD videos onto Inspire 4G but have no idea what kind of video it plays. Does it play HD? My friend has a HTC Evo 4G which plays 720p without problem, so I assume the Inspire 4G also plays 720p? Moreover, what is the best format for video playback with Inspire 4G?

the HTC Inspire 4g supported video formats Divx/Xvid/mp4/h.263/h.264/WMV9, it also supports the 720p video recording. so i think the 720p playback is ok. but the full HD 1080p Video can't be played.

Yeah, it plays 720p for sure. I‘m playing MP4 video at 720p. The HTC Inspire 4G handles it well. Everything's fine except for the file size. 2.5GB for one movie only, that's big file.

I like 720p mp4 file, it's perfect for my smart phone. But the .vob file playback always can't control the Progressbar, so I often convert the vob file to 720*406 mp4 file.

i suggest you mp4 format with h.264 Coding. accroding to some info, the h.264 has higher compression ratio, so the file size will smaller and accoring to my own experience, that was the case.

There are video converter tools for shrinking movies. I suggest you use pavtube. I use their blu-ray converter ultimate, and always choose the "HTC Supersonic Evo 4G H.264 Video(*.mp4)" for my Inspire 4G. It compresses a 90min movie to 800M~ 1GB.

Tried the Blu-ray video Converter Ultimate and it turned out to work well.I also converts some DVD movies to the smartphone too. Good app! But? why is there a watermark on the screen?
