Hi all,

Can anyone shed any light on the following, these issues seem like those apps just havent been tested or finished properly.

1. Replying to an email leaves the original body out. If I email someone who has an exchnage active sync account via kerio mail server 7.01 on an h&c desire running android 2.1 then they reply, the original message is not included on their response. Only the to, from, subject headers show wight no content. Interestingly, the message is there if you view the raw email source. Kerio issues or android mail client problem?

2. When inviting from the calendar off the htc, outlook and iCal users don't get accept / reject buttons - they do if they go via kerio webmail - again htc problem?

3. A strange invitee shows on the invites the htc user sends out - exchange@htc.calendar - whats this about?

4.contacts as companies don't show unless they have a phone number entered but even then, they still show as empty in the address book list. iPhone got this right from day 1 - any other ways to get this to work correctly?

Thanks for any insight,

J

Are you using just the built in email client? Is this an Exchange account that you are using? Are you able to view the body of the message on a computer but not on your device?

From what I have read around the net the HTC sync for Exchange is really crappy. There are so many people that complain about issues similar to yours. Android 2.2 is supposed to fix the Exchange support but until then there are several programs in the Market Place that are good. I don't use exchange so hopefully someone that does can chime in here and give you some tips.

I have asked around so many times unsuccessfully if Droid 2.2 will continue pursuing trying to erode Microsoft's market by enhancing incompatibility with Outlook calendar. I returned 2 Droids before due to lack of cooperation from Google, Verizon and Motorola in solving this issue. I am not a Microsoft groupie, my company uses Microsoft Outlook and it does a very good job for me. I need a new telephone that syncs with Outlook Calendar and I would like to try Droid. Does Google actually think that by creating this much difficulty to work with Microsoft Outlook they will convert people? I really do not want to wait until Windows 7 but at the rate I am going is looking more and more like a possibility. Anyone from Droid can tell whether the Droid X will sync with Microsoft Outlook (Exchange servers) without having to push it through gmail?

I am not an Exchange user so I cannot fully comment but from what I heard the Exchange support is supposed to be native with Froyo and a lot better. Hopefully someone that uses exchange can chime in here though for sure.
