Hi all,
I've had my Desire for a couple of weeks now and have got a few small niggles that I thought I'd put on here to see if it was just me or if anyone had any comments.
You know when you have an email or text message waiting for you there is a little green ball that appears on the 'Mail' or 'Message' icon with a number in it indicating the number of items for your attention? Well I often find that the 'Messages' little green ball doesn't go away even after I have read all the new messages.
Hotmail doesn't work, but it didn't work on my Hero either. I did send HTC a message about this and they replied saying they would send an OTA update that would sort it out, but the number of the software revision of my phone was already the version they said they would send. Oh well.
Sometimes when an email (POP3 account) is picked up on the phone it gets deleted from the server even though that option is specifically turned off - this can be properly annoying as I prefer to manage my email from my pc. (I think the Hero might have done this too)
I've found a website that crashes the internet browser - this is a first, don't think I've ever managed that before. I tried to look at
www.jaguar.com, cue a black screen then being dumped to the desktop. Ok, that website is groaning with active content, but I was surprised it just killed the browser.
There is no icon to turn on/off the mobile network anymore.
The icons for Bluetooth and WiFi don't turn them on and off like they did on the Hero, they just take you to the settings page - rather annoying.
I use my mobile as a broadband modem for my laptop, being on T-Mobile it is not unusual for the data connection to drop out, on the Hero you could tell at a glance if this was the case as there was an icon in the notification bar (a pair of horizontal arrows), this has gone on the Desire, so it makes working out why things have fallen over a bit trickier.
I think it speaks volumes for this phone that this is the worst I can come up with and let's face it, you really couldn't call any of these anything more than a minor niggle. Does anyone know if the Desire has the same problem with dropping text messages that the G2/Hero did?
Cheers!
