Whether or not I order a NO will depend heavily on the battery life it gets. I know this thing *should* do "ok", since it's got a 1400mAH battery.

Would the early adopters be so kind as to report back here with how long the phone lasts between charges and what kind of use (i.e. heavy talk and internet use, or mostly sitting on stand-by) they are making of the phone?

I ordered mines yesterday and will be in my hands tomorrow so I will definately get back abd post my findings. But knowing the specs on it, the battery life doesn't seem to be the best. Here sre the specs accordint to google: 1)talk time- 10 hrs on 2g/ 7 hrs on 3g. 2)stand by time- 290 hrs on 2g/ 250 hrs on 3g. 3)internet- 5 hrs on 3g/ 6.5 on wi-fi. 4)video playback- 7hrs. 5)audio playback- 20 hrs. So looking at these specs and considering that this beast of a phone is running a 1Gz SnapGragon processor and "living" wallpapers, the battery isn't THAT bad.

The battery life is utterly woefull. I charges it all night before turning it on and it only lasted 3 hours with 2:30 in my pocket! Do not get this piece of crap if you want it as a phone lol.

Please don't put this phone down like that. Sounds like you have a defective battery or you are keeping your wifi and GPS on all day and syncing your accounts constantly. My N1's battery is great considering that I use the mp3 player and Pandora while I drive (atleast 5 hours), I use the internet alot, talk on it and message throughout the day and I have atleast 35-40% power left before I charge it for the night. Remember, this phone is as battery efficient as no other due to its AMOLED display and 1400hz battery.

So you guys are having to charge your N1's multiple times throughout the day? That doesn't seen to be the phone, I'm positive its the battery. I use mine like crazy and I charge it before going to sleep. Too bad that the only way to express complaints to Google is to email them and hope to hear from them. I asked T-Mobile if they knew anything about the N1 and they didn't know Jack sh*t. Hopefully Google understanding that people are having genuine problems and address them in a better, more efficient manner.

I got mine on 6th. Testing the nexus one only on wifi and GPS switched with airplane mode. I get the charge message after 3 hours of full charge. what does the spec say if used on Wifi?

When checking the "battery use" option it shows 67% use is on the "Display" rest are very small in usage. I am not sure if these details are correct but if they are correct how to change the display settings to make sure they are used minimum??

You can always turn the brightness of the display down so it is dimmer. There's an option to keep the brightness automatic but it will increase brightness upon recognizing a bright surrounding. Besides that, I don't think there is anything else to do besides that.
