received Hero last week as gift. Tried to switch my phone out on my verizon accout. Doesn't support Hero. What companies do (in US) and what plans are good?
Verizon has a Hero but they called it the Droid Eris.
It's the same phone inside I believe but verizon does what they do to any nice phone... Remove all metals and replace with cheap plastic.

Are you talking about the international Hero or the US version Hero? The international version will work with T-mo and AT&T as GSM and the data will travel via the EDGE network.
