I have an HTC Hero using HTC Sync which doesn’t allow me to Sync my Outlook Notes and Tasks. It also doesn’t allow me to view the full notes within my contacts. I"m looking for software compatible with the Android Platform that will allow me to sync all Outlook info and be able to view it all on my phone. Please advise, thanks.

I have the same need. Unless I can find a solution I will ditch my Hero. The same problem exists with the iphone but there is an app (not available on Android) that does tasks and notes called IMEXCHANGE

So what happened when you tried the ones in the market?

If for whatever reason you failed to get the market apps (eg touchDown) working, did you try the options Google suggests about syncing Outlook with a gmail account?

Hope not being OT anyway talking about HTC Sync limitation: when syncronizing Hero handset with Outlook on the PC, through HTC Sync, the calendar entries at the Hero side miss either the invitation sender and attendees informations. I find that as a lack of important informations said that I use calendar a lot for my business not being able to see who sent the invitation and which the partecipants are.

This failure to work with Outlook fully is a real pain as is the basic office funtion. I hope HTC take it upon themselves to improve their sync program though if not then someone will developed as an app if people will pay.

Untill then im using google and outlook (uggh), There is a pretty good free google calender sync program from google. However the contact sync program you only get free if you upgrade your google account. Other either free, demo or web based providers seems to result in either no contacts at all or 2 sets on the phone - this is such a faf.

CompanionLink seems to work. I tried the free trial and it synced my contacts from Outlook to Gmail and then of course that will sync automatically to the Hero.

I don’t actually fancy syncing my emails through Gmail first. Is there anything else out there?

What did you end up doing? I thought that when my HTC Hero is connected to my computer and it says SYNC completed: CALENDAR and CONTACTS that it copied everything over! But, I just checked and it does not copy anything that I added on the phone to the computer! It did copy things from my computer to the phone though when I first synced it though. Why won't it do it the other way around? Is anyone else having this problem? I carry my phone with me all day, so when an appointment comes up, I plug it into my phone and I should be able to connect it to the computer and have it copied like the OLD HTC TOUCH used to do without issue.

Is there a way to get this to work? Thanks

Have you got the HTC sync set up to sync in both directions? It can be set 1 of 3 ways sounds like you have it set from phone to computer and not bidirectional
