Unfortunately I have the same trouble Jake has...seems like my contacts only sync from Outlook to my phone. I downloaded the newset version of HTC Sync today and installed it. I have Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop. Hate to sound ignorant but can you walk me thru to were thst setting is at? I've looked my eyes dry in all of the HTC Sync menus and anywhere it seems to make sense in my Hero but I still have the same problem. Thanks in advance!

Can anyone answer me why HTC is keen on bringing out excellent android phones and lack of a basic synchoronization software?
Blackberry uses Intellisync which completes the job in seconds. But HTC has a half-hearted Sync and its latest version 2.018 does not synchoronize with Windows 7 64 Bit.
The phone is brilliant but I am looking for a decent Outlook synchronization. Can anyone help?

Was wondering if you found a solution yet to the Outlook sync carrying over all the information that you have in the Outlook program? I have clients too that I keep notes on and the sync will only carry over part of the notes I have written in their contact info. I'd hate to give up the phone over something like this...but..I might be going back to the Blackberry over this.

Why won't it do it the other way around? Is anyone else having this problem? I carry my phone with me all day, so when an appointment comes up, I plug it into my phone and I should be able to connect it to the computer and have it copied like the OLD HTC TOUCH used to do without issue.

Is there a way to get this to work? Thanks

I had a same problem, but have found how to solve the one-way sync problem. It was easy and quick solution.
1)HTC sync seems to make a separated calendar set in HERO. When you once sync with Outlook in your PC, the calendar set named "Outlook" must be created automatically in your HERO.
2)When you create a new event by HERO, first of all, you must select the calendar "Outlook" and create the new entry in it. You can see the top line of the entry page, saying " Calendar" and "name of your current calendar" with pull down button at right. You pull down and select "Outlook"
3)Then next time of sync with PC outlook, it will be synchronized.
4)Once you selected the calendar "outlook" in HERO, it will be remained the setting, and no need to touch the pull down. Further entries will be on the calendar "Outlook" in HERO. You can enjoy 2-way sync between Outlook and HERO.

Your previous entries by HERO must be saved in a different calendar. If you sync HERO with Gmail, another calendar set named "Gmail" will be there. You can see the different colar tag at left side of each entry. Mine is green for "Outlook" and blue for my original calendar which will not be synced with PC.
