No Wifi w/Mail App

I got my new Hero on Friday (Reward Zone member). I came from an iPhone 3GS. I HATED at&t service.

I have set up my Yahoo account with the mail app. I set up my Gmail account as well. I can not access my Yahoo mail from the mail app when connected to Wifi. If I turn off Wifi, then I can access the mail app.

I CAN however access my Gmail account using the Gmail app on Wifi.

Has any body else experienced this or any clue on how I can get this to work with Wifi??

For the Yahoo account, you will probably need to set it to always use SSL.

I'm not that familiar with YMail but Gmail has a setting if you want to access the email via IMAP. If Yahoo also has this and that's how your connecting then you may need to check that IMAP is enabled.

I found out that you have to upgrade to Mail Plus in order to use it the way that I was thinking.

Thanks for letting us know.

You may be able to partly solve your issue by logging into YMail and if it allows you to then set it up to send a copy of your emails to the gmail account.

Alternatively, use GMail to import Ymail. You could then set gmail "Send As..." for the Yahoo emails but note that software such as Outlook will show a "somebody@googlemail.com sent on behalf of somebody@yahoomail.com".
