I am new to this. I want to buy a Galaxy S but I hold back since I don't have a simple way to sync contacts. I believe I found a way to sync calendar via the Google sync. Is there such a solution for contacts, notes, tasks ?

Only if you would be prepared to move your contacts to Google or your PC.

I use that program, as well. It syncs more than just Contacts. Transfer isn't always seamless with some contacts, but it does a good job with no "cloud" required.

This is so easy If you have the latest Microsoft outlook you can sync all you need to from kies which is the software you can download all you do is pair the phone with the usb with the software, Then press sync it will ask you what to sync then it will look for outlook then it will install some software and your away so if you have a full version off office you have every thing you need, i use calender and memo and contacts so if i have to update my phone with one button press it is all back on

The reviews for this product (kies) are very bad.

Not so easy for everyone. The Samsung Captivate does not work with the full Kies, only with Mini Kies, which has almost none of the capabilities of the full program.

I am using Android Manager to sync my Outlook data. It is free on Market and has a PC companion app that lets you select data to sync and transfer over wifi with the phone.
