Hello everyone.

Ive had my g1 for 2 weeks its been used quite heavily for txt and emails. I have noticed that the plastic key surround on the qwerty has become slightly raised! Only around the s d f row. Also my screen has a slight slant on it so it is no longer square with the rest of the phone when its open!

Im not bitching about the handset. Its the best handset ive had! Just i thought that the build would have been a little more robust!

Has anyone else had anything similar?

Charlie

I think the screen tilt is all part of the design, when the keyboard is opened the screen is slightly raised.

The only issue im having is chipping (white G1), i unfortunately dropped it a couple of days ago and i've scuffed just about each corder of the handset

Hello,
i just signed up to the forum on a related subject.

Basically i'm thinking about getting the G1 pretty soonish, but i was wondering whether the users here would recommend me to get insurance. I've never really bothered with insurance before but i feel like i should with this phone, then again.. i'd rather save the £7 each month

any advice would be great,
cheers,
>Marcus

I guess it depends on the individual really. For me the G1 is a second phone (still under contract for a few more months with Orange), so i decided not to bother with the insurance - mainly because if i go out on a night out i'll use another handset.

It might be possible for you to shop around and try to get the insurance cheaper, i know certain bank accounts offer free phone insurance, and im sure i read somewhere the AA offers it too.

Yeah I have the G1 for 3 days. After exploring I noticed that my screen was slight tilted to the left and it was just like you Charlie, mine isn't square with the rest of the phone like the keyboard. However when you slide it back down (close it), it ok (not off center). I google this to see if I was the only one too. The other thing I noticed is that the screen makes a litte creeky sound when you press it and the phone is closed. Or is that just my phone? Great phone but could talk a little touching up.
