Ok, someone is going to reply to this in 5 words and make me feel stupid, but if I wasn't over that then I wouldn't be posting.

When I am using the ( crappy ) camera on the G1, it clearly states to me to "push the button at the top right" ( you know, the one with the little camera on it ) to take a picture. Ok, so I do that, and it appears to take a picture... But nothing happens. Where's the picture? Finally I figured out that if I press the scroll ball, it really DOES take a picture, and then show me the picture and give me options, like share, delete, edit, etc.

But why doesn't it do this when I hit the actual camera button? What gives?

If you go into menu -> Picture, you should be able to see all that pics you've taken so far.

When taking the photo's i noticed i had to hold the button down for a few seconds too.

I'm not too sure about the added controls (i havn't really spent much time using the camera) - hopefully someone else can help you there.

And while I'm asking questions, is there a "tab" function? What about navigating left and write in a field? Tapping the screen isn't always necessarily my favorite option, and I can't find anything about it on another forum or site...

The camera button is a two stage button. You press down half way to get it to focus and press the rest of the way to capture the shot. It is probable that you aren't pressing it down all the way. When you press the trackball, it take a picture every time because the trackball is not a two stage button so it just focuses and shoots.

As to Tabing and moving around in a text field, I have found a few things but don't think I have found them all (At least I hope not).

Alt+Q is the TAB function, i.e. move the cursor 5 spaces in a test field. Holding Alt when moving the trackball left or right moves the cursor to the beginning or end of a line. Holding shift, blocks the text for cut or copy.

I have not figured if there is a way to move word by word yet. Nor have I found a way to tab from field to field other than the trackball.

For some reason when I take a picture it shows up like I took a picture and then when I check for it, I only have a "Downloaded pics" and "all pics" option. I cannot find the pictures I took. I have used the camera and it worked fine for about 2 months. Now it decided not to save them. -_- Any help?
