I also agree that the camera isn't very good compared to previous phones I have had, but I read lots of reviews and did my research before choosing the G1 as my upgrade. Now I've done the research, I am very very pleased overall with the stability of the OS and also the look of the G1 itself.

With any mobile phone today, every handset has one stand-out feature and is what makes people buy/upgrade it. I'd say the G1 is for people who aren't fussed about getting top quality photos from using a mobile phone and instead would use a good digital camera .

The camera was a let down for me too. You would think 3 megapixels would be sufficient, but apparently not with this phone. People ask me how to take pictures on the phone, and yet they still can't do it after 3 times of telling them, so it just makes me and the phone look dumb

And why does everything have a blue hue to it? That annoys me!

Having used a Nokia N95 for a few years and enjoyed the excellent photo and video captures, as you'd expect the G1 camera was very poor in comparison.

If i know im going some place where i might want to take a few quick pics/vids i'll swap out my sim and take the N95.. kinda given up on the G1's camera really.
