Just seven days since the release of the G1, it seems some clever coders have managed to unlock the G1 from it's T-Mobile network.
For just $23,
http://Unlock-TMobileG1.com will gve you the unlock you need to free your G1 from it's T-Mobile shackles.

After placing an order including your IMEI code you will receive an eight-digit unlock code for your device. After you receive your unlock code you insert a non-T-Mobile SIM card and the G1 will prompt for an unlock code, enter the unlock code provided to you and hit unlock. You will then know the device is unlocked with a notification that reads 'Network Unlock Successful', it is as simple as that.

Ok so what's the downside? Well it's actually pretty huge.
Reports from G1 owners that have used the unlock codes say that after inserting the new SIM they were unable to log into Gmail (user the correct details too), and therefore not have access to the Android Market.
So due to that im finding it touch to see the appeal?
