hey guys, new to the forum and hope to become a usual here, but i came first and foremost in the hopes someone might be able to help me out with this issue im having as searching (google and forums) has given me no results yet
so the problem im having, and it began literally out of nowhere, just one day started doing this and has been since, even after a system reformat. well for some reason everytime i look at my screen the E (or sometimes G) are always there and the arrows flash showing there's something going on being sent or recieved where before it would just show with the greyed arrows unless i was ACTUALLY using the internet for anything and so its really killing me cus its absolutely killing the battery (now im for the most part assuming this is the cause bacause as i said the Edge and G activity are abnormal and the only cause i can think of). i even find myself having to charge the battery up to 2 times a day. any help of any kinda is GREATLY appreciated, and thanks in advance

Have you installed any new apps? Or updated anything like google maps? Some apps regularly connect to the web without you having to tell them to. Google latitude for example updates your position every couple of minutes. It uses your internet connection to do this.

I was wondering what that "E" was. It has been happening on my G1 as well.

Change your g1 setting to run on 2g network instead of a 3g network.

That will save you some battery.
