There is no System Update option on my G1

I used to have cyanogen mod installed, then my sim card died. Had to take my g1 tmobile shop, so I downgraded to RC29 and now I have official version of android. They replaced my sim card and everything is fine. I don't plan to go to cyanogen any more. I felt it was too buggy. Things would work like charm in the begining, then weird things would start happening (freezing, failing to boot? Etc.) Anyway, I discovered today that "system update" is missing from Settings > About Phone. Don't know how to request regular updates that are released in last couple months. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

did you ever figure out an answer to your problem? I also do not have a system update option...Did you send your phone in for a new one? or did they send you an update?
