Dialing while driving

It drives me crazy that when I click on a name to call while driving, I am presented with multiple options to pick from.

I click on "Favorites," then the name, then I have to choose from a list:
*Call Mobile
*Call home
*Call work
*Text mobile
*text home
*Text work
*Email home
*Ring tone

I'm driving and this is not safe! Is there a simple app for the G1 for simply getting the damn phone to give me just the phone number to call?? My prior phone allowed me to press one button, find the name, and call. There are too many steps in the G1!

Is there a simple app that allows me to DIRECT DIAL someone in my address book? I don't text or email while driving - and I don't want to change ring tones while driving! Sheesh! Please let me know.

Why not just use voice dialing?

My first thought was to use voice dialing as well but even if you say "Call John Doe Mobile" it still will offer options as to whether to call John Doe at home, office, mobile..etc.
