Would be helpful to know what the last update you received was!

The latest is version 1.6 aka Donut. It is being sent out over the air (OTA) now but as to when you receive it - Sometime in the next few weeks.

Is there anything in particular you are looking for?

What about Android 2.*? Are we gonna get it?

There was a buzz (a couple months ago) that Google was going to end fragmentation and upgrade even the G1 to Eclair. What happened? Is no news, bad news for the G1?

Well, 2.2 has been out for a long while. And 2.3 Gingerbread is going to be released TOMORROW, December 6, 2010 (according to Notion Ink.)

I guess that the G1 is just dumped by Google.

Android Application Architecture?

Android Application Architecture has the following components:

* Services ? like Network Operation
* Intent - To perform inter-communication between activities or services
* Resource Externalization - such as strings and graphics
* Notification signaling users - light, sound, icon, notification, dialog etc.
* Content Providers - They share data between application
