Hey!

I just got G1 from my girlfriend, she did an upgrade in T-mobile and she got G2. Im wondering if i can do the hard reset?? If its going to ask me for mail and password can I just put my own gmail?? or does it have do be someone with T-mobile data-plan? Second i connected to WiFi and tried to browse internet , its only going to let me see google.com and then its says that i dont have data plan even tho im connected Wifi to my house network. Can i play with my HTC the way it is or does it need flash of system ? Do I need to change from t-mobile the original HTC Dream system? Thanks for advices!

Dude, the browser WILL NOT WORK without a data plan. your phone cannot download without it, i'm surprised you can even see google

As long as you logged in to your wifi you should be able to browse the internet. You do not need a data plan to view the internet as long as your logged in wifi. I have no idea why the other poster said that. But you can do a hard reset and it will have you log back in and at that time you can use your own gmail account. But depending what firmware version you have you will have to sign in under data unless you have adb set up then you can bypass that. But if you have an adp build you can skip the sign in and sign in later using wifi.
