It wasn't obvious to me, but selecting text (from a document / messaging) is done just like on windows.

Hold shift and select with the scroll wheel or touch. You can then cut/copy/paste/delete with that selection. This doesn't seem to work with web pages (except for forms)

For cut/copy/paste as mentioned you can use the Menu c,x,v. Or you can use touch. In messaging for example, if you long-touch on the text you get a menu for: Select All, Cut, Copy and Paste. It seems that sometimes you must double-tap-long-touch. Meaning, tap once and then tap-and hold until the menu shows.

i just got my G1 and i have 3 major questions that i'm hoping you can answer....one i got a picture message and i saved the image but i cant seem to find it...where can i find my downloaded images???....two where can i find my ringtones?? what i mean is, is there a special folder or section to hear them??....i bought this G1 from a friend and his gmail is on everything....my last question is...how can i take off his gmail and put mine?? HI All,
I need your help on T-Mobile G1. Accidentally I erase all my applications and it went to factory reset. I lost all the use of my G1, I could use only the emergency call.
How can I restore my G1 back to its original version?

Hold SHIFT, you recieve a cursor.
Move the cursor with the trackball to the starting point in the text.
Press the trackball once.
Move the cursor further, the text is marked,
Release SHIFT, the text is copied.

Works one any text, not just textfields.

PS: Hold ALT while trackball using, to scroll a site/mail without jumping from link to link.
