I don't get sound or vibrate alarms for texts

Has anyone had this problem?
When I get a text message, or picture message, I get the notification on the status bar, but it won't make a sound to alert me, and it won't vibrate to alert me, regardless of how I have my ring volume set (such as on vibrate, or at any volume).
Can anyone help me with this? It sucks that I have to check my phone all the time to make sure I didn't miss something, rather than just have it alert me with a vibration or a sound.

I havent had it since i got the 1.5 update. But it happened to me a few times before! I just turned it off and back on again and it seemed to fix the problem. Untill it done happened again!

I only have 1.1, unless I'm brain farting and don't know what update I have. Isn't 1.5 suppose to be cupcake? bastards haven't given me that yet!

Hey, that fixed it... for now.
Damn, this means that my phone is just like a PC, reboot fixes everything. Too bad you have to reboot PC's all the damn time. haha.
I guess that's one of the many reasons I switched to a MAC. If only they had iPhones for T-Mobile
