Hi there,

I have a few annoying problems after updating to 1.5. On top of this, the accelerometer in my G1 has died so it's going to have to go in for repair/replacement.

Does anyone have a guide or some advice for me in backing up my phone? App-specific settings etc... Also, the procedure for a factory reset would be great too.

Quick question on the factory reset - will this put me back to one of the early RC7/8/9 firmwares or will it keep me on 1.5?

your contacts, calender and emails automatically backed up with your google mail account. But settings and apps would be removed. The factory reset wont roll you back to earlier firmwares. So you will still be on 1.5 If you go to settings and then to sd card and phone storage there is a ''Factory Data Reset''

The only thing i could suggest is finding rc.... to download, then reflashing your phone with that firmware.

Thanks Charlie, that's great. I don't want to go back to < 1.5 anyway, was just wondering if "Factory" reset really meant "as it came out of the box, early firmware and all".

Cheers.
