I agree the Touch HD does look amazing, but i can see why they decided on the G1 design.

I guess they want the UI of Android to be the focal point, opting for functionality and ease-of-use over design and cosmetics.

The G1 couldn't be more user friendly really, touch screen, trackball and slide-out QWERTY keypad.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of 'higher end' and iphone-like handsets in Android's future, but as a launch handset i think the G1 is a sound choice.

(Plus there's the cost factors too).

I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying the G1 is all plastic?

every phone on the market is made of some plastic or other we have no metal cell phones out in the market? look at the new Iphone 3G it also is made of plastic yet no one seems to point that out? whats the big deal they are all going to be made of plastic get over it. you all have cell phones now that are plastic so give this phone a chance.

the G1 is not going to creat long lines but in time just like the first Iphone it will be a game changer.

i have a problem guys should i get the my touch if i have a g1 but get this i taked tombile in to letting me buy it and a super discounted price since i had the g1 exchagned like 15 times so they say i can get it for $119/ ill still have my g1 but the my touch as alot of free space. or should i just root my know and use my 16gb SD card as internal memory and in october im getting the hero from sprint so im going to have 3 android phones guys i dont know what to do help me please
