A month ago I had to replace my evo glass because i was careless and shattered it while getting in my jeep. I replaced it myself, by ordering the digitizer online, it all worked great when i put it back together, but..........

Last week I took off my case and flipped over the evo to look at the back side, and the replacement glass, just fell out into my hand, but of course still stayed connected by way of the ribbon that plugs into the pcb.

When i first installed the new digitizer there was an adhesive on the back to hold it in. Now, obviously it seems this adhesive is no longer..has anyone experienced this? Right now my case is what holds the glass in place. Everything works perfect, its just crazy how this thing fell out.

Also i'm trying to decide what material i can use to help hold this glass in better, in the event i drop the phone again, and it falls all apart.

I know that even in the Sprint store, we tend not to mess with *just* the digitizer. When we replace screens, the LCD and digitizer come as a whole assembly and we just replace that part. I haven't heard of any of those just coming off. If you've got TEP, your best bet might just be to go to a Sprint repair store and let them replace the whole assembly. Obviously don't tell them that you opened the phone yourself to repair it though :-) If that's not an option, I'm sure there's some sort of epoxy or strong, thin double-sided tape you can use to stick the two back together. You'd just need to be very careful with the application.

thx mitch.......
I'll probably go the epoxy route..The phone works great, and my case does a fine job of holding in the glass. It was just strange that it had an adhesive backing that worked well when i replaced it, now its gone. Possible the heat dissipated it in some way.

You can replace the whole assembly of the screen, if you still want to repare by yourself, maybe you can try some lcd adhesive.
