Oh thanks

I'm having the same issue as some of the previous posters. The video plays on the device, but when I connect it to the HDMI out, the screen goes blank on both the EVO and TV. HDMI works with YouTube, any reason it won't with the Video player?

Thanks for the post. Works perfect for me. No probs whatsoever... works great with my HDMI ports and DVI as well right to my HDTV.... good options for quality, compatibility.

I've encoded a 720p to work on the smaller resolution, but keep the 720p to play on my HDTV as well...

J.

Thanks for the guide Psy.

I haven't tried this yet but I'm going to this weekend: RockPlayerBase media player lets HTC EVO play DivX, XviD, and other videos [from GoodandEvo.net]

If I can avoid converting video I'm all for it. Inevitably I realize I need to do it 5 minutes before I'm leaving the house and never have time.

ok I converted a 900mb avi file to mpeg4 at 800x600 2-pass and the output file was 2.26gb in size....bigger than the original...is that cool?

I was going to update this how-to: But after doing some research and a ton of reading I have found out that there is really no big change at all in the picture quality of the settings I used in the original how-to, to even worry about updating it for the 800x600 setting.

So I am not going to even mess with it.

Dr. Bowtie the file size will be bigger then the original. So all is well with that.

I should add too....

I used the settings Ivy posted in his guide for Format Factory...the size of the finished file is about 500mb compared and there are black bars on the sides but it is fine...

I converted 35 avi files for the owner of the EVO without hiccup...
