Anyone know if you can get t9 texting on the droid instead of the qwerty keyboard?

You should try the (Evenbetter) Numberpad Keyboard. It has a next button, predict, abc, and 123 modes, as well as learns word prediction order. It's the best T9 app out there.

I have been texting with T9 since it began near 10 years ago and i can type a million times faster with my thumb than i ever will be able to with two hands on a little bitty keyboard. and i don't even have to look at the dial pad when I use T9. I can hardly stand to text without it!
Come on motorola/verizon! Do it for the Droid!!! (if the the Eris has it, so should Droid!)

the 'Black Bolts Keyboard' is an awsome T9 keyboard! The developer is awesome too, he's very helpful and will listen to any suggestions and problems that you have with it. It is SO nice to be able to text again!!!

I found it. Thanks so much. I am a disaster at qwerty keyboard. I am so much faster with T9. Thanks LainyJHawk. You are a life saver.

just go to the 'market' (use the icon on your phone) and search for 'black bolts' and it should come up. i think it's $1.99 or $2.99 but it's worth it if you like T9! and if you don't like it you can get a refund if you uninstall it within 24 hours (at least I think it has to be within 24 hours).

Thanks for your help. Since you helped me with the T9 problem. I got another one for you. I had a LG DARE before and the missed calls and mobile email would show on the home screen where you could see them. Can you do the with the droid? I have figured out that the mobile email does show in the top left corner but don't know about the missed calls. I just wanted to know if they would show on home screen. Also this is my first smart phone. Do you have any tips for a newcomer? I do really appreciate all your help.
