Droid Observations - nearly 1 month

So I bought a Droid on Sat 11/7 and have been fiddling with it ever since. Some good, some bad experiences. AS powerful as this device is, I cannot make it perform the simplest functions that my ancient Treo did well -[LIST=1][*]Provide audible prompts for sheduled events[*]Synch with Zimbra[*]List Contacts alphabetically BY LAST NAME
Without these functions it's a poor business phone. I've made two trips to Verizon where the harried sales dudes couldn't help; I've read the Motorola User Guide cover to cover - I've chewed up 40-60 hours fiddling with it over the past month.

Is it just me, or do others have similar frustrations? And does anyone have any solutions? I would be ever-so glad to find some.

Yeah, totally.

The prob is Palm had dumped on its users once again, and I'm jumping ship. Palm Desktop 6 is their last item supporting PalmOS cellphones, and it will mess up your data if you "upgrade" to it on an existing device. Verizon no longer offers or supports any PalmOS phones, and I think Sprint and others are moving away from PalmOS. Palm is going to WebOS, and quit supporting PalmOS Treos some time ago. Call your insurance to replace your broken 700 or 755 and see what happens!

If I'm gonna go thru any data conversion / migration, this'll be one of the very last times I do.

Search for a site called androidforums. There's a thread on it "migrating from palmOS". It may be of interest to you any others making the move.

I'd rather keep my Treo, I still like it in many ways. I hated it when Palm, who really had the original touchscreen PDA / phone, waited forever to incorporate a phone into the Palm Pilot. Then they made the screen SMALLER, got rid of graffiti, and put on a hardware keyboard. Those stupid decisions affected YOU and ME, not just their company.
