I've only had my Droid about a week but I have noticed one problem I can't fix. My notifacation ring (which just happens to be set to "Droid") will (sometimes) just repeat over and over for several minutes. The only way I have found to shut it off is to silence the phone. Even after I check to see what I am getting notified about it just keeps on saying "Droid, Droid, Droid" over and over. It's enough to drive you crazy not to mention the looks you get if you are out in public.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

I've had mine a few days, and still can't change the notification tone. I can imagine how annoying hearing that would be. Did you try taking the battery out and reinserting it?

Push the menu button at the bottom, then "Settings", then "Sound & display". This will take you into the notificatoin settings where you will find the "Phone" & "Notification" ringtones. I keep my phone on vibrate about 99%of the time to prevent any surprises in church, meetings, & other quiet places. This is done by pushing on the button on the right of the unit up or down until you see & feel "Vibrate".

I have friends who just want to hear "Droid". Great conversation piece! Hope this helps.

I've done all that, but under "Notification Ringtone" are the 20 default tones, with NO way of adding to the list or accessing my music to choose one there.

There is one ringtone on the 'ringtone list' called silent, select that and the notifications won;'t make any noise!

If you're interested in using your music as a ringtone there is an app on the Market called "Rings Extended" that give you the option to choose an mp3 file on your SD card as a ringtone or notification.
