Merge Contacts

Hey, I just got my phone a few days ago and when it imported my FB contacts it did not line up with some phone numbers (the names were not exactly the same). I want to merge them so I don't have multiple "contacts" for the same person, but am not sure how to do it. I thought I found how to join the contact but it just freezes at the screen with "select a contact to join" and I can't select any. Is this a glitch or do I have to do something else?

Not certain on Facebook; I just joined two Outlook/Exchange/Corporate contacts after finally finding the method for un-joining another set. My guess is that it can't find another account similar enough in the display name, although it should still display the Show All Contacts option

Use the contacts options in gmail (on the web).

select 2 (or more) contacts and hit [Merge]. It then shows you what the merged contact will contain.

that works, or you can go into the contact edit and hit join then select the contact you want to join it with

If you want to add a phone number to a facebook contact or merge two contacts on your droid here is how to do it.... Go to Add New Contact..Type in their name exactly as it appears as their Facebook name... Enter in their number..Click Done..Search for them in your contacts and POOF...Its all in one!!

I think all you have suggested used to work until android uodated their software... non of these works with the latest version, I have tried and tried... merge contact and add to existing contact does not work anymore, i dont know why android did that.
