On the home screen of the Motorola Droid in the upper left hand corner are various symbols One is there right now that is not in the manual. It looks like a piece of paper or rectangle with the upper right hand corner folded over. Inside of it is a check mark and there is a line underneath. It seems to be keeping the display from shutting off and my battery is draining at an excessive rate. Note I have the Power Control Widget installed and everything is off. Does anyone know what this and what to do with it?

You need to click and pulldown the symbols in the upper left corner, and it will give you the option to clear. They are just notifications.

While my Droid's plugged into my Macbook..there's a symbol near the top center that appears like a phone "shaking"... it's not in vibrate mode, so...not sure what it may be... Ideas?

I called Verizon Wireless and was told those folded pages with the check mark are "notifications" associated with your Droid. You may have downloaded an application and the symbols appear. I had four of them. The tech had me hold down and drag them down. All four appeared and I was able to delete each one. No battery drain was occuring.

I'm still trying to figure some of the symbols that appear at the top of the phone. I found a manual on line but it doesn't show the key to all the symbols. I did find the symbol key in the HTC Eris Droid and some are the same but many are different. Can anyone refer me to a location to be able to interpret those Motorola Droid symbols?

What does the triangle next to the signal strength display mean?
