Does anyone know if the motorola droid has speed dial other than voice mail?

if you want a home screen dedicated to calls you can create a Shortcut that is a direct dial to a contact. It will create an icon for that contact. Best I have found so far

You can mark contacts as favorites in the "phone" application by selecting the "star" icon at the top-right of the contact entry. Then when you select the favorites tab in the phone app, you have a separate screen for "speed" dialing. Other than that I've not seen any other way to do it.

It's easy, it's called direct dial. Just touch an open space on your screen-shortcuts-direct dial=now chose the person you want and poof! Their icon is on your home screen. Just touch it and it dials!!!!

I can not select the "favorites" star for a contact. How come?
