Wonky Touch Screen

My Eris worked perfectly for the first month or so that I have it, but recently the touch screen has started acting really weird.

It will scroll to the far left screen, and then either refuses to move back to the home screen, makes moving back to the home screen incredibly challenging, or allows me to move back to the home screen and then slides over to the left screen again.

It also randomly selects things, especially when I am looking through my programs.

It works about half of the time, but the other half of the time I am left incredibly frustrated. I installed the Android 2.1 update, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Mine was having a problem like yours, and it turned out the screen had some skin oil on it that was causing it to read touches wrong. I cleaned the screen with a mixture of 1 part distilled water and 1 part 90% isopropyl alcohol, using a glasses cleaning cloth. It fixed the issue. You can buy ready made screen cleaner too if you don't wanna make your own.
