No speed dial

Did a systems update on my Eris and it deleted all my speed dial numbers and will not let me reset them. Tried a suggestion from the internet which did not work. Verizon want to take my phone and give me a refurbished phone after only having my phone for 8 weeks. Please help!

this won't be helpful, but my speed dial doesn't work either. i enter it, and touch "save," but nothing gets saved. is that what happens when you try it?

I found the solution to my speed dial problem on the internet. After doing a systems update on my droid eris I lost all my speed dial numbers and it wouldn't let me enter them again. This solution worked for me: go to settings, applications, manage applications, go to dialer and contact storage and click on each one, click on and select "clear data" This deleted all my contacts but the came back after resyncing with my computer. After this I was able to reload all my speed dial numbers.
