Hey,
Just updated my Droid Eris to 2.0. I never bothered to do this before, but I was bored, and opened up the "people" app, which is essentially the "phonebook" or "contacts" thing on any other phone. Well, you know how it lets you sync your stored numbers with gmail accounts, and facebook accounts? Well, I don't have ALL my friend's facebook accounts in my phone. I only have A - J (arranged by first names).
So, should I open up my girlfriend's number in the People app, scroll over to the "link to facebook" button, and press it ... she's not there, because her name starts with M, and the list stops at J.
Is there a way to re-download all these facebook contacts? I assume this problem came about during the 2.0 update a few weeks ago, because I lost all my numbers, too. I could only salvage the ones from my text message inbox, which is fine, I don't really care. I'm just wondering how to get the rest of my facebook friends on my phone, so I can link/sync them up...

yeah, you can sync all your contacts in too.
settings>accounts & sync>sync now
i don't do the facebook thing on my phone, but there is an option to add an account to sync, and i'm assuming you could add facebook.

Tried it. Didn't work. Facebook contacts list still stops at J.
But now that I've found that place in the settings, I'm going to remove my facebook account from the phone and re-add it.
edit: Now they're ALL gone... and won't come back...
edit 2: When I try to add a new sync account, I get two options for facebook. "Facebook" and "Facebook for HTC Sense."
Choosing "Facebook" does nothing. The screen won't advance.
Choosing "Facebook for HTC Sense" advances the screen, adds the account, and claims to sync my contacts. But alas, none of them can be found in the People App.

did you try to turn your phone off after you did that?
i know you're suppose to turn your phone off often. The longer it's on, the more glitchy it can get. I turn mine off like once a day or every other day. i haven't been having as many issues since i've starting doing that.
my suggestion is that if you can't figure it out and you're verizon store is really good, bring it in. i brought mine in and they tried to fix some things and when they couldn't, they gave me a new phone because i had a hardware problem. i'm not saying at all that they will give you a new phone, but if it's an issue with the hardware, they might. i didn't have to pay anything. but this was after 3 factory resets and an update. it just wouldn't work correctly. but hey, it's worth a try. it really does depend on the tech...i go to 2 different stores and they are both really good, but i check with both stores on an issue because different people know different tricks.

I turn my phone off whenever I'm charging it.
I'll try bringing it in to the Verizon store.
Thanks.

Okay, this is absolutely ridiculous. I turned my phone off to charge it, and just turned it back on a minute ago.
I get a text from my girlfriend, and notice her facebook picture is now loaded. So I think "hey, maybe it worked." I go in to the People app, and get this:
Now I only have facebook contacts from J to Z.
Seriously, this is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen. First it only let's me have the first half of my contacts, then it erases all of them, THEN it gives me only the second half?

Heey. I'm back, haha.
I fixed it. Let it be known to anyone else that has this issue:
Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Facebook -> Delete Account
Turn your phone off. Wait a bit. Turn it back on.
Go into the people app. Select a contact. Move over to the page where you can sync with facebook. Press "link with facebook account," and it'll take you to a login. Log in.
DON'T link to facebook using the Accounts & Sync page in the settings, just do it straight through the People app.
Put your phone down and don't touch it for about 20 minutes, just to be safe.
Pray. Dance around your phone 3 times.
And that should do it. All accounts should be linked on their own, now, provided you have your contacts named appropriately enough that it can automatically search them. If not, link them manually, they SHOULD all be in there...
