I just got the droid eris on Saturday. Then this morning I went to use it and found out I have no phone numbers! I have email addresses in place of phone numbers. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I was told by the person in the store that google stored all my phone numbers. but I'm not sure how to access this.

Before all my phone numbers were deleted I was getting the error message "Too many contacts delete" And I had the options to: Delete the items, Undo the deletes, or do nothing for now. I always clicked do nothing. And now for some reason this has dissappeared.

Whenever I sign on google with my computer and I click on contacts the only thing I see is email addresses, no phone numbers. This is the same way my phone is. All I see is email addresses.

My phone has done the exact same thing. All of my contacts in Gmail had the email addresses but no phone numbers. I have also lost several contacts that were not in Gmail because I always had the Gmail contacts sync error. No longer have the sync error, but having to rebuild the numbers from scratch or go back through my call log and reenter them into contacts. I have never had a problem with this phone until now.

This just happened to me on Sunday. The phone had new updated software required to be installed. I installed it and once it installed all my contacts were gone. I called verizon and they had me sync contacts. I did that and a few numbers came back as well as my facebook friends (not all). Then I decided to go to the store and no one was able to get my contacts back. They say google is the only back up for the droids. Is this true? Can anyone help?

i just got the update and all my numbers and photos were deleted off my phone, but once i synced it back up, they all re-appeared. gmail DOES back them up. i can't see them on my gmail page on my computer either. this is how you get them back:

settings>accounts & sync>sync now

i believe that's what you do. they will all be restored.

i would go talk to a different tech if you can, they should be able to help you.
