just began using my eris yesterday and find it to be an impressive device, but there seems to be no way to assign a ringtone to a particular person, such as when a friend calls, this way i know it's him or her, by the sound. any ideas how to do this?

i have many ringtones, so sounds are not the issue, finding a way to assign them, is.

thanks

jwsnyc

Hey jwsnyc, the answer to your question has been mentioned a few times in this forum, just do a search whenever you need a "How To" question answered, I bet you will find your answer. But, just for kicks, I will go ahead and answer your question directly. You just need to open the contact's info page, Next, click on the Menu button and then Edit. Next, scroll down on the page until you see the "ringtone" option. From there, click on the down arrow next to "ringtone". This will allow you to select whichever ringtone sound you want to select for that person(you will only see the ringtones that have been properly setup on your phone. If you don't see the ringtone that you are trying to setup, you will need to first properly setup your ringtone sounds. Last, make sure that you scroll all the way down on the page and select the "Save" button to save your selection. Hope this helps.

How to Change a Ringtone for a Specific Contact in your Android Smartphone:

1. Go to "Contacts"
2. Find specific Contact you'd like to assign a special ringtone
3. Press your "Settings" button
4. Go to "Options"
5. Go to "Ringtone"
6. Complete action using Android System or what ever Ringtone App you have.
7. Select the ringtone you want to assign to that contact.
8. Complete by pressing "Done"

I'm sure you've discovered how to do this by now. I hope these step by step directions help somebody...
