This is probably the dumbest question ever, but I can't seem to figure out how to close a web page so that my browser returns to the default setting.

Additionally, although I've deleted cookies and my cache files, the browser still jumps back to old web pages (not even very recent ones).

I've read the manual online and although it's descriptive about how to get into websites and navigate them, I didn't see anything about how to actually close them (and keep them closed!).

Again, I know this is a silly question, but this problem is becoming an increasing source of frustration for me.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I have been using the program "Advanced Task Killer Free" for a couple of weeks now.

I found that without it, the Eris holds the last page you had open in memory just like you would of left it open on your desktop.
If I have done several tasks or opened several programs, they are ALL still open when I access the Task Killer program. Everything running along as if I had never left the programs/pages.
It is my understanding that they stay tecnically open so you may go back to them much as you would having several programs and browser pages open on your home computer.

The obvious result is that we are "running" these program even in a standby state and they are taking memory space for other program we want to open quickly an efficiently.

So I open up "task kiler" and close th epesky residual program links after I am done with a "series" of things I have been doing on the Eris. You can even check mark which ones to close and which ones to leave open (for instance weather so it updates automatically)>

The program is free. Just search it from "Market".

Even if it does not solve your browser history, it wil at least keep you other programs closed until you need them. Its worth a try I think.

Good luck with it.

I did as you suggested and installed the Advanced Task Killer Free Application. So far so good! Hopefully, it will help my battery life, too. Thank you from a fellow Kansan!
