I can't get my alarm clock to sound. It will go off but only lights up unless I turn the vibrate on but then it doesn't make any noise. I have a sound set for it and have tried adjusting the overall volume as well as the notification volume and nothing

Was having same problem, but if you go to set an individual alarm, choose the alarm sound, and when in this screen press the volume keys and you should notice that the volume indicator says Alarm instead of volume here. Do this or download an alarm volume control application

Can someone tell me how to turn OFF the alarm once it has sounded? A "Dismiss" button very briefly appears on the scree of my Droid but if I do not get to the phone fast enough this button goes away. AFter that moment there is no apparent way to turn the alarm off.

It sounds for 10 minutes! I DID find the button that will let you decide for how long the alarm should ring (I set this for 10 minutes instead of 15), but how about turning off the alarm when it DOES ring? It just shouldn't be that difficult PLEASE help!

the button is probably "Snooze"

to "Dismiss," slide the screen down as if you're unlocking it
