I did the upgrade this morning for my Droid Eris. Since then, I can't 'unlock' my screen when i slide the screen down. Its like it doesn't recognize that Im touching the screen at all. I can however use the menu button to unlock it and then it runs fine after being unlocked and the rest of the screen works. I can only find the G-Sensor Calibration that has the 2 levels on the screen.. I can't figure out where to calibrate the 'touch' part.. I do have a screen protector on it but it has never been a problem.

any suggestions??

Thanks

I had the same problem this morning. You don't need to calibrate your screen. You can no longer slide down the whole screen to unlock the phone. Touch and slide from the gray bar and it works perfectly. I imagine this is what HTC always planned but it was not working correctly with the initial software.

I have tried many times to carefully drag just the grey bar and have still been unable to unlock my phone. Also, I am not able to unlock it through the menu like the OP says they did. The only thing I have actually been able to do since this started is answer a phone call (by pressing the physical green phone button).

Not sure about that. I would recommend calling Verizon.

With me the unlock problem only seems to occur when answering a call....regular unlocks are quick. Phone call unlocks seem to work after a minute or so.....but that is a Loooooong minute with the phone ringing...I'll have to try hitting the phone button next time

i went in to the techs tonight cuz i was having a couple little issues. i know in the past, when a problem was happening, it ended up fixing itself after a little bit. i'm trying that with what is going on now. he also said that if there are persistent issues/bugs, htc will release another update to fix those, but it has to run for more than a couple days to see what actually needs to be fixed.

also, he told me to check how long my phone has been on. the longer it is on, the slower/more glitchy it gets. you check this by going to: settings>about phone>battery......up time is the amount it has physically been on. awake time is the amount you have been using the phone, as in not being in lock mode, but actually on it.
he did not know the recommended about for the eris cuz he has the moto. but just turning the phone off and then back on will help a lot.

yeah, and seriously...give it a week or so. my friend who works at verizon has the moto one and so does the tech i always go and see and that phone has issues too. i honestly love the eris more than the moto. the tech said his phone will just factory reset randomly on it's own. i mean, they are both cell phones and on a network that just came out in november. it's super annoying, but it'll get better as time goes on. i can tell it's just the beginning. 6 months from now, i bet these phones will be sick as they keep updating them.

but bring it in to the techs too, and if you have techs as good as mine, they will figure it out. and if you don't like what they say or they don't give you a real answer, go see another.
