My dad wants to trade me his hardly-used Droid 2 for my heavily-used Droid 1. We are both under Verizon. Can we simply switch sim cards or is it more complicated than that?

Wouldn't have to change numbers since both numbers are on the same plan. You could just simply get hold of a Verizon rep or call them and reactivate the phones under the other number. You just need to give them the phone information I believe so they can switch which phone is under which plan. I have done this several times, example, when I upgraded from Droid 1 to Droid 2 the D1 went to another number on my plan and the D2 took my primary number. So switching the number on the phone can be done it's not something burned in to the hardware of the phone.
