I love it. Much more than the iPhone.

But today I was loading an internet page and it was taking a long time. It was at around 2/3rds battery life. I set it down for a few minutes, then picked it up again to check it. The screen wouldn't turn on. The phone was really warm. I figured that it had frozen, so I waited a few more minutes and tried again. I decided that it had turned off, so I held the power button but it wouldn't turn back on. It wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in, because a Droid can't be plugged in and off. It's supposed to turn itself back on. It didn't. So I took out the battery, which was cooling down, and waited about a minute. I put it back in, and it turned back on fine.

I fixed it, but the problem is concerning. Is this common? I had the Droid Eris before and that never happened. Would it be best to see if they'll replace it for me?

I've been having the same problem, happens at times for no reason or while I'm texting, playing games, browsing, etc. I spoke with Verizon yesterday and was told nobody else has brought to their attention. He had suggested to put back to original phone and start adding apps one by one or will reissue a new phone if problem persists.

I should probably report this to tech support as well. Although I am not sure if it's because of me or the software. I just switched off of AT&T and went with Verizon. I was getting dropped calls all the time now enjoying the better coverage.

The whole Droid concept is new to me and I guess the v2.2 is new to everyone. I really enjoy the voice recognition stuff. I use it all the time for Navigation and Text.

Pulling out the array should accept anchored the problem. Most acceptable it was a botheration loading that accurate website. If the botheration repeats itself assorted times, again I would accept the phone replaced.

I had this problem with my fascinate, you most likely had the phone plugged in while you were using it right? Anyways most smart phones have an internal thermometer that shuts down the phone when it reaches a certain temperature, to prevent damage to core components. I'm not sure exactly #. But you can download apps to monitor your phones temperature.
Ways to avoid this:
Don't use a generic charger, use the one that came with your phone.
Dont use apps that use CPU and ram heavily while charging, especially with a generic charger.
also, if you can't wait for your phone to cool down, you can remove your battery door. Or if your really impatient, you can put it in the freezer. The freezer will not damage your phone whatsoever as long as its dry.
