Hi,

I'm new to this site but wanted to sign up to get other peoples opinions on the new google tv. I am very excited about google tv, i was in the middle of planning building a media pc but when i read about google tv i stopped straight away.
I think google tv is the beginning of the android take over. Google TV will bring internet to your tv but i think most importantly it will bring apps to the tv. This i think will see major increase in people signing up for subscription sites like spotify and lovefilm because why buy a new cd or mp3 when you can have google tv to play any tunes (almost) you like from spotify thru your high quality home cinema system or on the go on your android phone. Or why go to blockbusters video store when you can sit on your sofa at home and 3 or 4 clicks later you have to newest film release downloading to your TV in HD ready to watch in minutes. I think also being able to control Google TV with your android phone is a massive feature because before you know it there will be games on the Google TV android market that you can use your phone as the controller much like a PlayStation move or wiimote or even more platform based games where your phone could be used as a combined wiimote standard controller and even the Nintendo DS touchscreen control pad.

I think this is just the beginning for android as it will very quickly replace many devices we use today. In my opinion the smartphone has already replaced the mp3 player and arguably the tablet PC has been dominating over the netbook market. Is android after the games console next??

Please leave your opinions??? I have loads more ideas where i think Google and android can go next!

Cheers
Rob
