Possible to receive updates in Italy if no longer have service provider from the US

Hello there android fans!

I own a samsung vibrant and recently moved to Italy. I no longer have tmobile as a provider but am hoping I can still receive updates. Is this possible?



I don't want to root my phone if it's not necessary.
(fyi... I have signed up with the service provider "wind")
