Hi there, android fans.

I was thinking about this issue and cannot come to a conclusion about it. Maybe you can help me out.

See, I am from Brazil and own a Motorola Milestone (you call it "droid" over there) and the Brazilian Section of motorola will not release update 2.2 (froyo) in Latin America. Dunno why they're doing this.....

Fact is, I might be traveling to Europe in September and I was wondering if I take my brazilian droid with me and, when in Europe (precisely Ireland), buy any provider cell phone pre-paid chip(pay as you go), put it on it and try to update the darn thing to froyo. Would I be able to do so?

I know the update process requires internet access so I'll try it using wi-fi or 3g (it will depend on the fees).

Will it work?

Thanks in advance.

Contact you Mobile Service Provider and ask them whether they provide a roaming feature for the plan you've taken with them. If so you'll be use it without any European Pre-Paid Chip. And then you connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot and goto Menu-->Settings-->About Phone-->System Updates. If you are connected to a Wi Fi router then you'll be able to Update.
