Got my update this morning.

Now every time i do anything with the phone and press the home button all i get is a black screen (but still with the status bar at the top) after a couple of seconds i get.......

The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And the force close button. When i press that it goes back to the home screen but only my background image shows, no icons or anything. Then they all come back! One after another!

While I am not experiencing this specific problem, I do seem to have issues after updating to 1.6; Whenever I try to go to Market I get a network error, the YouTube app says there's no network connection... so something is quite different from how things were.

For what it's worth, I use the HTC Magic.

Same problem here... after the last Update, the software seems to be much slower and yes, freezes sometimes. When I make calls too sometimes, and also when i end a program i was using, it is very slow before it will go back to Home screen.

It sux big time! I have both iPhone and G1.... I used to love G1 more but now... my 'old' iPhone is way faster!!!!

This is getting beyond a joke! After doing a little google research. I found that the majority of people having problems seem to think its to do with the 3rd party apps that people have installed not being compatible with the 1.6 firmware! So ive uninstalled ALL of my apps. Guess what?? Still same problem! I think ive narrowed it down to the messaging app. Every time i write a text and go back to the home screen i get the force close message!

Fingers crossed Google will release a fix for this soon! Only cause its getting close to upgrade time and i will be getting a iphone, blackberry or even a palm! Anything that doesnt run android!

It's not a major bug in the sense that it effects every phone. I got mine updated OTA this morning (UK, T-Mobile, G1, standard) and all is fine.

I knew there were some apps that cause issues (because I checked first) so I uninstalled them first.

Try a hard reset.

I am sorry that you're having problems and i sincerely hope it can be fixed.

Is it the native Messaging app that you're having problems with?

yeah. Ive done everything i and google.co.uk can think of. It seems to be when i close the hard keyboard and press the home button after writing a text. It doesnt seem to do it when i use the softkeys! Which is a annoyance! Cause i dont like using softkeys! The joys of having sausage fingers!!!!

But on a positive google search by voice has been updated to work with the 1.6 fw.

Are you guys running the manufacturers 1.6 firmware? Or are you guys rooted with a custom build? I'm on Cyanogens 4.1.9999 which is 1.6 and I have absolutely no problems at all. It is fast and stable. I haven't came across an app that doesn't work yet and that is well over 130 apps.
