Hello,
I received the cupcake update a few days ago, and ever since then, Google Talk has become very unreliable. There is a consistent problem with receiving IM's, no problem sending them. Here is the scenario, and it happens randomly and often:
I will be in Google Talk chatting with someone, and they will send me a message. It will not appear within the chat itself, but the Google Talk icon will appear in the top left of the phone, signifying a chat has come in. The icon disappears after 3-4 seconds, and no IM is received in the chat window. I have no way of finding out what the incoming IM was. If I can click on the icon during the quick 3-4 seconds it appears, then I can see the incoming message - but it does not also display in the ongoing chat history. If I restart Google Talk, "sometimes" it fixes the problem and the chats come in correctly.
It's happening about 40% of the time, pretty much making Google Talk unusable as I'm missing many incoming messages. I never know if I've missed anything unless I'm continually looking at the top left corner of the screen to see if the Google Talk icon appears for that brief 3-4 seconds.
At other times, Google Talk works normally. Chats are received correctly within the chat history, and the Google Talk icon appears in the top left of the screen and remains there as it should until it's clicked on.
This problem started immediately after the cupcake update. Can anyone let me know if they are having the same issue?
Thank you!
